Director of Event Planning & Outreach
North Carolina Right to Life is currently seeking an individual to fill the role of Director of Event Planning and Outreach.
The person will engage in the day-to-day operations of NC Right to Life while learning critical communications, organizational and executive skills under the direction of the President and Board.
This role can be remote and offers a flexible work schedule. It is part-time, up to 30 hours a week.
NC Right to Life is the oldest serving, single-issue, pro-life organization in North Carolina.
The Director of Event Planning & Outreach will provide:

Event Planning & Management:

Work with organization to develop and maintain overall yearly event schedules & budgets.

Develop task and timelines plans for each specific event, and ensure the organization is executing this plan to achieve successful event.

Member Outreach & Communications:

Work with President and Board to develop marketing strategies and plans, then execute those plans.

Work with marketing partners, and internal staff to develop marketing & communication materials.

Ensure all communications are proofed, by all stakeholders, and quality assurance review.

Responsible for operation of all communication tools, including on social media and MailChimp.

Networking, recruitment, and relationship building with donors, churches, and like-minded organizations
Flagship programs of the organization include the annual March for Life, the annual Prayer Breakfast, Camp Joshua, Oratory Contest, Gala events, the coordination of NCRTL’s attendance at numerous state fairs. Attendance at the National Right to Life’s Conference is paid by NCRTL for this position.
An ideal candidate will be a dedicated pro-life leader who seeks to further NC Right to Life and its mission to protect innocent human life from the moment of conception until natural death.
Candidates must have demonstrable pro-life knowledge and conviction, as well as organizational skills and excellent writing skills.
Candidates will be required to pass a background check and complete Protecting God's Children or similar curriculum.
Education and/or Experience:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as non-profit management, event management, or communications is highly desirable, but not a requirement.

Experience in communications, project management or program management, event planning, executive assistant, or similar is desired.

Experience in the communication and/or marketing fields.
-
Experience using MailChimp, and other similar communications tools is desired.

Non-profit experience with a 501 C4/C3 organization is desired, but not necessary
Language skills:
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in copywriting, editing, composing emails, correspondence, and in publishing e-newsletters and flyers in English.

Proficiency in Spanish is an asset.
Personal Skills:

Self-Starter - Ability to work unaccompanied, problem-solve, parse news and current events, compose well-structured communications pieces, make sound decisions, and deal with a variety of variables.

Flexible - Ability to take direction and change course based on the leadership decisions of the President and Board.

Organized - Strong organizational and project management skills
Technical Skills:
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Canva and others.

Proficiency in basic website creation and maintenance. (Wix and others)

Proficiency in utilizing current social media platforms.

Knowledge and experience with donor management tools.
