North Carolina Right to Life Joins the World in
Mourning the Death and Celebrating the Life of
Pope John Paul II

North Carolina Right to Life mourns the death of Pope John Paul II, the champion of the rights of the unborn, the newly born, the aged, and the infirmed. Throughout his life, he spoke and wrote eloquently about the sanctity of all human life while decrying the culture of death which encompasses abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Pope John Paul II lived what he taught. Through many years in declining health, he demonstrated the value of every human life, even when frail and suffering with disabilities. With his death, he showed the world how to die a natural death. By example, he truly lived out the culture of life.

"While we mourn the death of Pope John Paul II, we also celebrate his life. Pope John Paul II will be called John Paul II the Great in part because of the consistent life ethic that he proclaimed, both in his spoken and written word, and taught by his example," stated Barbara Holt, president of North Carolina Right to Life.
