Click to Donate North Carolina Right to Life, as the state affiliate of The National Right to Life Committee, works together with that influential national organization to help lobby the Congress for the passage of pro-life legislation and the defeat of anti-life legislation.
Our partnership for life that this affiliation creates is a win-win situation because we help them and they help us, but our very existence depends on the generosity of our donors. We depend on folks like you who believe in upholding the principles of life at whatever point those principles are under attack.
North Carolina Right to Life successfully lobbied for and helped pass in 1995 a one parent consent law. When the law was challenged, we submitted a Friend of the Court brief in support of the legislation. Victory was ours again, when the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the law.
Click to Donate Also in 1995, we lobbied for and helped slash the state abortion fund. Prior to that year, North Carolina paid for over 4,000 abortions per year at a cost of $1.2 million dollars. The fund is now $50,000 and pays for only those abortions done for life of the mother, rape, and incest. This law was challenged and we defended the law with a Friend of the Court brief. The law was upheld in the state courts and has been renewed by the General Assembly each year since 1995.
The generosity of North Carolina Right to Life supporters helped make these victories possible. Now like never before, we need the help of many more people. The time is ripe for pro-life victories. We will only seize that opportunity with your help. Please give as generously as you can.
