Jefferson once wrote, “The care of human life
To demonstrate the hideous nature of abortion, I will describe for you the procedure of suction-aspiration. This killing method is used after the first 3 months of pregnancy, when all of the baby’s organ systems are developed and fully functioning. The abortionist inserts a sharp-bladed powerful suction tube into the mother’s womb. The unrelenting suction tears the baby apart, emptying out any body parts, blood, or placental tissue into a bottle. The abortion industry doesn’t even deny that this and many other gruesome procedures are performed! Along with violence against babies, abortion is very harmful towards their parents, a fact greatly overlooked by the abortion industry. According to 27 independent worldwide studies, women who abort their first child, have twice as much risk of developing breast cancer. Parents of abortion victims have been proven to experience “post-abortion syndrome,” which includes damage to the body and severe mental illnesses, which are brought on by guilt and often bring suicidal tendencies. The truth is that abortion has injured and even killed thousands of American women since 1973. Now why would mothers and fathers want to brutally kill their own baby? According to a survey from the Alan Guttmacher Institute, which is the research arm of Planned Parenthood, 95% of women said they aborted for reasons of social convenience, rather than rape, incest, or the mother’s life. Even in the case of rape, abortion is not the answer! Why must the baby suffer for the crime of the rapist? Why must women endure more pain and trauma by having an abortion? Adoption is the loving option for women who’ve been raped and their dignity stolen. According to the National Council for Adoption, more than 1 million loving couples want to adopt a child every year, yet there are only about 50,000 babies placed for adoption annually. The abortion industry promotes disturbing motives for their business, such as: “it’s my body, it’s not a human life, and it’s my choice!” Concerning the argument that “it’s my body,” the truth is that it’s a unique baby’s body, that’s being destroyed during an abortion! The abortion industry shows a blatant disregard for the indisputable dawn of human life. In 1981, a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee interviewed internationally known geneticists and biologists, including Dr. Jerome Lejeune, also known as “The Father of Modern Genetics.” All of the scientists openly testified that human life begins at conception! Human life beginning at conception is not a religious or philosophical belief, but a scientific and biological fact! The abortion industry claims that women have a “constitutional right to choose” abortion, yet I’m still searching for the amendment endorsing abortion. On the contrary, the 5th and 14th Amendments explicitly state that no one can “be deprived of life, liberty, and the ownership of property, without due process of law.” Ladies and gentlemen, humane societies should not equate “freedom of choice” with killing innocent children. If we don’t stop this horrible injustice now, our society will continue to deteriorate. For example, the abortion industry is targeting my generation through a devious cycle of greed and lies. Planned Parenthood teaches and promotes sexual promiscuity among teens, and when those same teens become pregnant, they go right back to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. Abortion is leading our nation to believe that human life, dignity, and self-respect are worthless! Despicably, the multi-billion dollar abortion industry hides under the cover of “women’s rights.” However, where are the “pro-choice” feminists when young women die in abortion clinics from serious complications? Where are these feminists, when women who regret their abortions need moral support? When are women going to stand up for their true rights: the rights not be exploited, not to be lied to, not to be used, but to be treated with dignity, respect, and love? The Declaration of Independence,
authored by Thomas Jefferson, states, “We hold these Truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life,
Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Ladies and gentlemen, these
unalienable rights are not American rights, but fundamental human rights,
and abortion is an enemy of these rights! This is not solely a religious
issue; this is a moral and civil issue that deserves the attention of all
citizens. So I ask you, to defend those who cannot defend themselves by
electing politicians who value human life in both word and deed,
supporting pro-life organizations, and praying for the proponents and
victims of abortion. Mother Theresa simply described our mission: “Life
is a dream, realize it. Life is a game, play it. Life is an adventure,
dare it. Life is life… fight for it!” Thank you very much and may God
